We have put our Code of Conduct here so that every visitor to our website
will read it. These rules apply to the IEF Game Servers as well as Team Speak
and the Message Board. The Code of Conduct provides rules and practices
that all players need to follow to make IEF enjoyable for everyone.
Banning Players
We do not like to ban players, but there are some circumstances where we will do
just that. In general we will give some warnings or requests and possibly even a
kick. Players will be banned for the following:
- Using a false =IEF= label and/or arm-patch.
- Deliberate TKing or Gimping of other players.
- Cheating in the game in any form.
What you should and should not do:
While these following topics might not constitute an
immediate ban or kick, IEF administrators will discuss and review player’s
actions and kicking and/or banning may result. Really, all of the rules can be
summed up in this one rule: Respect your fellow players. If you do that then you
will probably never run into problems while playing on our servers. Here are
some more specific guidelines that you can follow:
- Do not harass, stalk, yell at, threaten or otherwise abuse other players.
- Do not use racial, ethnic or religious slurs.
- Respect women playing on the server. This is not a chat room or a dating
service and real friendship with anyone male or female is something that is
built through respect over time. We want women in general and particularly
married women to feel comfortable playing on our servers!
- Do not use profanity in the in-game console. This is a family server.
- Be considerate with the language that you use in Team Speak. Language is a
difficult area and some people “swear” more than others. The occasional outburst
may happen, but players are encouraged to keep it clean. Excessively foul
language will not be tolerated and offending players will be banned.
- Put downs or offensive swearing directed towards another person is not
acceptable. For example the designation “noob” or “newbie” is offensive. Instead
you should endeavor to encourage and help the newer players, perhaps through
your example.
- Do not tell other people how to play. For example if you want to be silent
then do so, but respect that others may choose to be loud. Of course suggestions
may be made, but the right of an individual to play the game the way they choose
should also be respected.
- Do try to avoid Team Killing and gimping other players. Accidents will happen
(just ask Champ), but when they do apologize before the start of the next round
to the affected players. Apologizing for an accidental TK is the best policy
even if you don't think that you were at fault.
- Do try to avoid getting into other player’s line-of-fire.
- Do not “Zulu” other players. We do not have “Zulu” for the last living member
to rush or commit suicide, but rather to continue with the mission no matter how
many terrorists are left. Of course you can choose to rush a bit, but we would
encourage any last man standing to have a good go at it. Many times a map is
finished in this way.
- Respect the maps and the server. If you don't like a map and you really do not
want to play it, then put up a vote, being prepared to abide by the decision of
the majority of players. Don't tell people what they “have” to vote.
- Do not “advertise” that you are going off to play on another particular
server. Simply say you are of to play elsewhere, adversarial or terrorist hunt
and then communicate further details with anyone else in private, so as not to
disrupt or take everyone else away from the game in progress.
- Do not distribute, post, discuss defamatory, obscene or other unlawful
materials such as child pornography.
- Do not post links to websites that violate this Code of Conduct.
- Do not use IEF message boards or game servers for commercial purposes.
- Do have fun and enjoy yourself.
